Helen Wilkinson is a seasoned consultant in the cultural and heritage sector, bringing over 25 years of expertise to her work. Until early 2022, she served as Business Transformation Director for the Council for British Archaeology, where she led a comprehensive change program focused on increasing the organisation’s relevance and resilience, including spearheading digital transformation initiatives.

Before this role, Helen was Assistant Director of the Association of Independent Museums, where she managed a significant support program for small and medium-sized heritage organisations. She has a strong background in supporting volunteer-led organisations, providing governance guidance, practical training, and strategic planning, particularly during the challenges of the pandemic.

Helen's consultancy projects span a wide range of areas, including policy development, professional development, evaluation, program development, and organisational change, working with institutions from local museums to national UK bodies. She is also well-versed in grant-making and leadership development. In 2014, Helen earned a PhD from the School of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, focusing on the evolution of the UK museum sector in the late twentieth century.
