Audience and impact study

CAO was tasked by Plymouth Culture, an arts and cultural development agency, to analyse and evaluate the audience data and information related to visitors and non-visitors to Plymouth’s cultural venues to help establish an audience model for increasing audience engagement in the future. 

This was a short-term project which involved collating existing audience data and broader demographics, surveying visitors and non-visitors to cultural venues and consultation with key stakeholders to understand the gaps that exist in relation to accurate and meaningful audience data. 

The final report shared framework for ongoing audience research and data capture across the city’s cultural organisations, which will look at new ways of capturing and measuring the economic and social value of culture, therefore supporting the aims of the Culture Strategy for 2021-30.
