Tamsin is a Researcher and Project Manager for Cultural Associates Oxford.

Tamsin completed her BSc in Biological Sciences (Animal Biology) at Exeter, where she developed an interest in the conservation of natural landscapes. This formed a key theme in her dissertation which looked at the ecology of bumble bees. Since then, she has been a strong proponent for the conservation and care of our local ecosystems and is interested in further exploring this within the cultural and heritage sector.

She undertook an internship at the University of Exeter which culminated in the publication of a research paper titled “Eating versus heating: a study of the allocation of workers between foraging and nest incubation in bumble bees”. Through this she developed strong data handling and management skills which have frequently been drawn upon by CAO.

Most recently she obtained a distinction in her MSc in Applied Marine Science that had an emphasis on the conservation of the UK’s unique costal landscapes. This has given her a greater appreciation of the challenges faced by our heritage sector and is looking forward to being able to apply her scientific background to the work CAO undertakes for its clients.

She also enjoys volunteering with various charities in her spare time, including a local hedgehog rescue centre and Riding for the Disabled Association, as well as playing sports and looking after her various pets.
