Printmaking Artist
Anna Marris is a multidisciplinary printmaker, working between traditional and contemporary modes of print, often extending into sculpture and installation, to test the potentials of research-based creative practice.
Anna graduated from BA Fine Art at Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton in 2021, where she explored connections in art, science, and technology. In 2023, Anna graduated from MA Print at the Royal College of Art, during which she investigated the role of creative intervention to address complex issues entangled in the representation of resource extraction in imagery and archives. She was awarded a Distinction in her Critical and Historical Studies dissertation titled ‘Exploitative Extraction and Perspectives of Power: An essay investigating perspective through archives, contemporary art practice, and fictional narratives in the representation of resource extraction’.
Anna is a recent alumni of Art School Plus, a bespoke training program designed for artists working in the public realm.
Anna is an active member in two artist-led collectives: ZEST Collective and Boiling Point Artist Collective, both of which value creative practice through collaborative projects, exhibitions, and community engagement. In April 2023, Anna exhibited with Boiling Point in a collaborative group show and series of public events highlighting the many potentials of continuing art practice after graduating. The exhibition took place in Openhand Openspace, 571 Oxford Road Gallery in Reading and was awarded an Arts Council England Project Grant.
